About “Q”
Hi there!
I'm "Q". I have been baking for as long as I can remember. It started as a hobby that I enjoyed in my spare time, and quickly grew into a passion. While attending McMaster University I baked and decorated cakes for family and friends... I guess you could say I was a “procrastibaker”. After completing my Bachelor of Science I decided to follow my passion to Ottawa where I studied Pastry and Culinary Arts at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute.
Q’s Cakes opened in 2016. Since then I have been named as one of Ontario's Top 30 Under 30 in hospitality, and even competed on the Food Network, along with Carol and Monica (and we won!). I also teach as a baking and pastry professor at Conestoga College.
My focus now is to help other small businesses get their baking business started, by sharing the Q’s kitchen as a Co-Bake Space.
